With our newly relaunched website, we knew we wanted to introduce all of our readers and prospective clients to our team. So, in addition to the team members on our ABOUT page, we thought it might be fun to do some interviews for our blog.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll let you meet our team and learn more about how great our team is.
First up is Akili, she is the newest Catering Event Coordinator; however, she has five years’ experience in the events industry and her experience and relationships with vendors across the region are always helpful.
Let’s have some fun and get to know Akili a little better:
Two Chicks: We know your hometown is Palm Bay, Florida but we understand you were actually born in London. What do you like about Florida and what do you miss about London?
Akili: I like Florida because I prefer the year-round summer and I miss the shopping in London!
Two Chicks: If today were your last day on earth, what would your last meal be?
Akili: BRUNCH, I love brunch!
Two Chicks: LOL, Ok brunch is fun… next question goes along with that. Beer, wine or cocktails?
Akili: Definitely cocktails; margaritas, rum punch, and Caipirinha.
Two Chicks: We know working as a Catering Event Coordinator at Two Chicks and A Pot keeps you very busy; what’s your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Akili: Sleep! Binge watching Bravo and going out to brunch with friends.
Two Chicks: Brunch sounds like a theme, we think we might know this answer. What is your favorite part of your job here?
Akili: I love creating custom menus for each of my couples, and yes our brunch is really popular for weddings.
Two Chicks: Here’s a fun mix of questions. If money were no object where would you go on vacation? Dogs or Cats? What is your favorite industry blog or website? Favorite movie? And favorite kind of music?
Akili: Wow, that covers a lot. The vacation would be Thailand. I have a dog named Suki, who is very spoiled. The favorite blog is Bespoke Bride. Favorite movie is Love Actually and my favorite type of music is R&B.
Two Chicks: Last two questions, what kind of community or volunteer projects are you involved with and what is your secret, or not so secret obsession?
Akili: I really enjoyed being on the coordination team for the Downtown Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and my secret obsession would have to be The Office!
Thanks for playing along Akili, we’re really thrilled to have you as part of the Two Chicks and a Pot team and we know your clients are too.
