The idea of wearing or carrying something blue on your wedding day comes from an old English rhyme. “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, A Sixpence in your Shoe” The four items carried or worn were considered good luck charms. We’d like the “something blue” to be Blueberries! Since we are right in the middle of blueberry season, it seems like the perfect time for blueberry inspired menu ideas.

Typically, fresh local Florida blueberries are available from the beginning of April to the beginning of June, so right now they are at their peak.
Recently, our catering team partnered with some fabulous local vendors for an editorial styled shoot at Ever After Farms. This beautiful working blueberry farm with a rustic barn for weddings is located in nearby Mims Florida.

Our team had an awesome time working with these incredible vendors and we got creative with some unique ideas for foods that can pair with blueberries.
Playing with a blueberry theme was a fun design element. Incorporating blueberries into your invitations, napkin color or menu cards is a great way to add a bright pop of color.

Breakfast Star
Typically, blueberries come to mind when we think of delicious muffins. These are a great option for a brunch wedding, as part of our catering for a baby shower, or your next corporate breakfast.

Fresh Greens
A bright fresh salad of crisp greens, some local blueberries, and strawberries paired with a light vinaigrette dressing is a great way to start a meal, regardless of the occasion.

Blueberry Glaze
Fresh cheese ravioli topped with a fresh blueberry compote or our delicious all natural pork loin with a fresh blueberry glaze is perfect, unexpected additions to a spring brunch or dinner event.

Our chefs are always excited to work fresh seasonal items into your custom event menu and blueberries are a delicious way to brighten any dish.
