Even if you are not going out for a Cinco de Mayo celebration, it does not mean you cannot have a little Cinco de Mayo food and fun at home for dinner or include a little Southwest and Mexican flair in your next event. Recently our team worked with some wonderful event professionals on a southwest themed photoshoot that fits the bill. Delicious, fresh Latin inspired foods, bright pops of color in place settings and flowers. Here are some great Cinco de Mayo menu ideas.
Margaritas: The Perfect Starter
Start your fiesta off with a refreshing signature cocktail. In this case, a Grapefruit Margarita hit the spot. We used fresh, local Florida grapefruit juice and added a grapefruit wedge as a simple garnish. Easy to do this at home or include as a special touch to your next catered event.
Bite-Size Quesadillas
These bite-sized mini cheese quesadillas work well as a lite bite and make a wonderful passed hors d’oeuvre at a luncheon or event. It pairs perfectly with traditional salsa and guacamole or liven it up with a fruit salsa for a tasty twist.
Yummy Tacos
Keeping it lighter and still wanting some fun Southwest flavors, the tuna tacos are perfect, a warm flour tortilla wrapped around Southwest spiced, seared tuna, crisp lettuce, fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime. It is light, healthy and we bet you cannot eat just one.
The perfect pairing with the seared tuna tacos is our refreshing Mexican corn salad. It is bright colorful and packed with flavor. However, it is healthy, light and great way to include local farm fresh ingredients in your side dish.
Southwest food is the perfect addition to your next event. Whether it is a business meeting, social event or wedding, these foods can add unique touches, lots of flavors and a pop of color to any occasion.
